How a teacher shouldn’t be?


Neither lenient nor strict!
Invisibles between extremes are always not easy to identify!
Need not be a friend, but don’t get into the ‘unwanted list’!
Questions can be asked but answers ‘should not’ be expected!
In fact every single creature in this World is busy.
So, correcting the test papers in class will only add flames to fire!
There is something more always.
Don’t make us, ‘syllabus-maniac’!
World is vast with more eminent personalities.
People who share all good things without beating their own drums
Always deserve admiration.
Veracity can be tested.
But ‘assignments’ are not the parameters to estimate life’s important factors!
Test papers and numerical figures can’t decide everything!
Life is to move on…
‘Studying’ is done! Rest is not with us!

அன்பு


"விரும்பித்தான் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டேன்" என்று கூறினாயே ?
என்று,எதையோ இழந்ததைப் போல தாயிடம் கேட்டது,
உண்மையான அன்பென்றால் என்ன என்பதை
இன்றும்கூட உணராத பதினெட்டு வயதான குழந்தை ! 

தாயின் கண்டிப்பு


ஒவ்வொரு முறை நீ என்னை உன் சந்தேக வட்டத்தினுள் கொண்டுவரும்போதும் தெரிகிறது,
உன் வாழ்ககையில் நீ எதையோ தவறாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருக்கிறாய் என்று!

வெறுப்பு


உன்னை வெறுக்க எவ்வளவோ முயற்சித்தேன்.
இறுதியில் வெறுக்கவும் செய்தேன்,
உன்னையல்ல ! உன்னை வெறுக்க வேண்டும் என்ற என் முயற்சியை !

தாயிடம் சேய்.


என் இன்ப துன்பங்களையெல்லாம் உன்னுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டேன்,
கேட்பதற்கு யாரும் இல்லை என்பதற்காக அல்ல!
உன்னால் தான் நான் இவ்வுலகிற்கு அறிமுகமானேன் என்பதை மீண்டும் மீண்டும்  உணர்த்தவே !

சோகம்

சோகங்கள் ஏதும் சொல்லிவிட்டு வருவதில்லை.
அவற்றை தகர்க்க நாம் முன்பே யோசித்துவைத்திருக்கிறோம் என்பதை அறிந்தும் கூட!

சேயிடம் தாய்.


நான் செல்லும் இடமெல்லாம் என்னை பின் தொடர்ந்து வந்து                             கொண்டேயிருந்தாய்,
" நீ தடம் மாறிச் செல்ல மாட்டாய் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கிருக்கிறது "
                                                என்று கூறிக்கொண்டே !

ஜனநாயகம்

ஆறு இலக்க எண்ணில் ஊழல் !
ஆனால்
தன் வாழ்க்கையையே திட்டமிடமுடியாமல்
  திண்டாடும் சாமானிய மனிதனின்
ஒரு நாள் வாழ்வதாரச் செலவு - இரண்டே இலக்க எண்ணில் !
  ஜனநாயகத்தின் கேலிக்கூத்து !

விதியின் விடைகள்


" விதியை மதியால் வெல்லலாம் "
   மதியையே விதியால் நிர்ணயிப்பவர்களுக்கு,
இது ஒர் வாய்மொழியே!
  நாம் நினைப்பதொன்று ஆனால் இங்கு நிகழ்வதோ எதிர்பாராத ஒன்று !
"ஏன்?", "எதற்கு?", "எப்படி?" பல அழகிய கேள்விகளுக்கு,
  ஒற்றை வார்த்தையில் விடை- "விதி" !

விடையில்லா கேள்வி !

எண்ணங்கள் என்னுடன் அலைமோதிக் கொண்டிருந்தன
    கேட்பதற்கு நீ அருகில் இல்லை.
எதையுமே எண்ணத் துணியாதபோது ,
  நீ வந்து கேட்டாய் , " முன்போல் நீ என்னுடன் பேசுவதில்லையே? " என்று !

கவிதை

அனுபவத்தால் பிறப்பது மட்டும் கவிதையல்ல.
   பிறர் அனுபவத்தை அனுபவித்து உணர்வதும் கவிதையே !

சந்திப்பு


எப்போதாவது உன்னிடம் பேசும்போதுதான் தெரிகிறது
   எப்போதுமே நான் உன்னுடன் பேச விழைகிறேன் என்று !

நம்பிக்கை


வாழ்க்கை முழுதும் வாழக் கற்றுக்கொண்டேன்...
 ' எப்படி வாழக் கூடாது ' என்று என்னிடம்
     யாரும் கற்றுக்கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள் என்ற நம்பிக்கையில் !

சேமிப்பு


வாழ்க்கை தன் கோர முகத்தை
  எப்போதாவது காட்டும் போதுதான் தெரிகிறது,
சந்தோஷத்தை சேமிப்பதன் அருமை !

Heaven in tambaram!


Beautiful morning...
Mind refreshes and I stepped into my comfort zone,
Once I placed my foot in this 365 acre campus!
Am sure allopathy and homeopathy can’t give this sort of a relief!
Listen to a beautiful melody…
Walk through any straight road, admiring the greenery…
You’re done! One of the most beautiful moments to be cherished!
A part of brown soil painted green
   With yellow flowers smiling over it!
Even the sun blushes and plays hide and seek
    Between the dense trees!
Yellow butterfly enjoys the fresh day
     Lingering over the lush green valley!
It’s an era of global warming.
Earth chills out the previous dusk and
     Warms up the next dawn!
The neatly laid black road is not so happy
      To have the wings of dragon fly!
‘He’ could have extended its life span
      At least to enjoy the nature’s beauty in ‘his own paradise’!
Where else you can learn these
       ‘Arts’ and ‘sciences’ ‘practically’ par with this?!
Architect and landscaping can be learnt
        Without shelling out single penny!
Mausam plays truant here
        Making colorful flowers bloom for each season.
Science block welcomes you all its way
        With violet bougainvilleas on green leaves!
A treat to watch!
Ageing is for human beings but not for nature.
        It had been two years since I started admiring and I still do.
Visiting this beautiful heaven before getting my dream home ready can make wonders!
Will this remain a place to be cherished forever?
        The tree cut down on the way doesn’t say so!
Heart simply longs for some more years here!
         Life’s most complicated fact-sacrifice one thing to enjoy the other!
I have to wait to see, with what I am blessed with next and where.
But, is there any substitution for this?
Negatives shouldn’t turn out as answers for positives!

சொந்தம்


          

ஆயிரம் சொந்தங்கள் இருந்தன ! ஆனால்
    எதையும் ரசிக்க முடியவில்லை.
எந்தச் சொந்தமும் இல்லாத இயற்கையை
    ' ரசிக்க ' மட்டுமே முடிந்தது !

Life-is to live!

Life is something more
than mere trigonometry and analytical geometry.
Lack of time to analyse the chemistry between father and daughter
but ample time to struggle with chemical equations!
'Every action has an equal and opposite reaction'
just a physical concept
applied for 'non-living things!'
Human anatomy makes you think where your brain is
as it runs to many pages!
Life is something beautiful than all these!
If you discover your passion and go by it...

How beautiful you are...!

Being unique-is being beautiful !
You claim,'she is beautiful'
but for me it's in the negative!
There are times when I said,
'She is akin to you'.
Reply would be-'oh!but she is gorgeous!'
Everyday you stare at the mirror,
the mirror envies you and it envies itself
to face 'you'!
Are your thoughts so stupid than that
of a breakable object?
Beauty doesn't lie in others' comments
but in your own thoughts-make it smart.

Only 'thoughts' matters!


                                Have you ever wondered at people who confuse themselves with ‘admiration’ and ‘attraction’? Crazy! There are some poor souls who ‘imagine’, being beautiful is just about owning a good physique and good features! But this World is so vast that there are some good souls who can look at ‘beauty’ in a more ‘beautiful sense’!
‘When beauty is identified as beauty, ugliness arises.’-wonderfully said. When people stare at you for being ‘beautiful’, you might be overjoyed at that moment but do not miss to note that different feel which you get when someone says,’ The way you think is so good.!’. For sure the latter will be a better compliment to go with! It is only the thoughts which matters. We would have definitely come across some ‘smart’ creatures of God who’ just’ look smart and handsome but their thoughts will be in the other extreme! But then if we take a closer look and examine our thoughts, one common blunder we all commit would be, judging others by their appearance. It doesn’t mean people who look innocent and weak are not capable of anything. Only when we casually talk with someone or observe someone closely we can analyse them, else how could we? Just by looking at them? Isn’t that a high level of stupidity? The main point to be noted in this is we are hurting our counterparts. If you take a closer look, people who are glowing with confidence will be more beautiful than anyone else. Strong bones, sound heart, powerful lungs, active liver, sharp ears and luminous eyes are the real components that embellish an individual else one would be a bundle of bundle of bones and a parcel of problems!

My expectations on education!


                  Though we live in a land where free and compulsory education has become a fundamental right, and in a land where books are everything, whether you love them or not you are forced to develop a sort of love with them, where kids are trained to be bookish and expected to be book worms, we too have our own expectations towards our system of education. I believe these expectations are never ending! Dictionary meaning for ‘education’ is the process of teaching or learning. I thought, it shouldn’t be ‘or’, instead it should be ‘and’. Education ,the so called ‘process’ never gets full filled when its two main aspects ‘teaching’ and ‘learning’ are strong enough.
                    We can very well take pride of the fact that the World’s superior power’s president Barack Obama glorified the Indian system of education. But then, there is some obstacle lying behind, which prevents us or perhaps which doesn’t allow us to excel in this entire process. As an individual I have my own expectations. We are in such a World where a kindergarten child is expected to be thorough  with all fruits,vegetables,flowers and the list goes on….So, the environment around us expects us to be  aware of everything ,even as a child and it is also done! But does this process continue? The answer will be ‘no’ in almost all the cases. Children are children irrespective of their intellectual capacity and they expect to be spoon-fed. This is done, but not up to the mark.
                       Let me be precise. There are many publications which publishes books for school children. That too from this year equitable standard of education is said to be extended to all classes in our state. Whatever be the case, do all the teachers in our schools stress upon the ‘activity’ given in the middle and at the end of each lesson? Do they ever bother to give some glimpse of information regarding the URL at the end of each lesson in their history books? Not many of them.
                        In a class of fifty students or so, you cannot expect every one of them to be self-interested and to go through and dig out all these so called ‘extras’. Another saddening situation is that moral science and environmental science are just added to the list of sciences to cause head ache! What is the point in this? Moral science is to help an individual become a complete human and environmental science is to make the students aware about their surroundings. But are these two aspects satisfied? That remains a question mark.
                          ‘Self evaluation’. I believe this means evaluating one self. What is the point to finish the lesson in a hotchpotch way and to 'dictate' the answers for those questions under 'self-evaluation' in the class? Let all these be on one side. Let me come to the other side. The Hindu’s Newspaper in Education’ (NIE) is an excellent process which have been adapted and successfully run in many schools. I hope this would continue in all schools.
                             Next thing is, Education is a triangular process involving parents, teachers and students. Only when everyone involved here executes their role perfectly, a complete human could be produced, as education’s main motto is to do that! When a person recruited to work for an Information Technology organisation and a civil service aspirant are tested on their personality why can’t a teacher be? Teachers are supposed to be patient and they are expected to handle the situations wisely. So why can’t there be a personality test for teachers?
                              Finally, I conclude this hoping an optimistic answer would solve all the above question marks and that is my expectation on education!

Managing talent is not an eay task!


Introduction:                  
                     It is not an easy task to hire employees for a concern. The hiring manager has to run through the profile of the candidate and pick up the best which suits that particular designation .So, “Talent Management” is a new strategy handled by the HR’s in short listing the candidates.  Talent is an in-build component. You can keep on building it up. But the main source to build our talent is, to find the right place where our talent can be utilized to the maximum extent.
                    
Mutual Benefit:
                        Only if the right person is placed in the right position, both the organization and the candidate will be benefited. If a wrong person is hired for a position in a firm, he will neither show any interest nor any improvement .As a result the process of improving the firm and moving it on the success path gets struck. On the other hand some people, may be slow but they will be much interested .The point is ,the Hiring Manager should know to balance the two extremes and select the best one out.

The must-knows for candidates:
                           There are some people who do not know what their talent is, even at the point of preparing their resume. This is not a joke. We should be serious enough while preparing our resume. When it has the power to decide our future, why can’t we spare some time for this good deed? Some extraordinary, exceptional species have the habit of “cutting, copying” and pasting it out to prepare their own resume! This is commonly found when students appear for their Internship interviews. Please avoid this. This reduces the candidate’s chances to find out their own talent and mentioning it. The firms which hire freshers, list out their requirements. Try to check out those and only if you can take up the challenge, you should move on. Just because the concern asks for good writing skills, do not mention that as your talent in your resume. Remember, if you are short listed you will definitely be tested on those!

What do HR’s look for?
                             Any hiring manager would like to check for “the best” candidates, rather than “the better”. Any concern requires its workers to be cooperative, enthusiastic and to possess good communication skills. So the candidates should mention their part in all these aspects in their resume. For instance, if the candidate belongs to any voluntary organization, he/she should not forget or hesitate to mention that. The next thing is, after hiring a particular person the concern should keep an eye and watch the employee and maintain a good rapport with him to find out his best which can be utilized by the organization for its benefit.

Where do we go wrong?
                              The process of finding our skills and talents begin in the days of our college life. Today’s education system does not provide any application of our studies in practical life. Only if this is done the purpose of education gets full fledged. But we are responsible for finding our talent and to develop it. Most of the IT sectors hire candidates and provide training to them before they take up their job. So the candidates can nurture their talents and deliver their best to the organization.   
Conclusion:
                    At last “Talent Management” is an essential component for both the candidate and the organization. Therefore candidates should not forget to identify their talent and the organization should always be involved in digging out the employee’s talent to make the best use of it.
